May 2014: Proposal Navigator® Engagement Metric: 1-1/2 Days
This article reflects actual data from a medium-large size (~$100M-$500M), medium complexity RFP response. It demonstrates that Proposal Navigator® measurably shortens your startup time, enabling your team to begin to work productively on your proposal days earlier than your competitors, armed with higher-fidelity, ready-to-use source materials. This productive time advantage becomes even more significant on short RFP response periods.
By Tuesday noon, Proposal Navigator® was installed on my client's network. By Wednesday COB, these tasks had been completed:
L and M shredded out
A proposal outline through level 3
An initial compliance matrix (L and M)
Reverse cross-reference verification of L and M allocations to the outline, and
Initial Writers' Guides ready
As you recall, Writers' Guides (at a minimum) contain the complete proposal outline including the L and M text allocated to the outline, in Word format, in individual documents by section. This Word format (in the correct proposal template) can be used directly as the basis for Annotated Mockups (AMUs aka storyboards), because all of the compliance instructions, requirements, and evaluation criteria are contained within the documents themselves. As the proposal architecture matures, these Writers' Guides are updated with section-allocated themes, differentiators, strengths, risks, etc.
